Alessandro Mainente
hi this is my actual hbp, i have to admitt that press from static support position is very difficult in respect of normal press. maybe there is a little pike in the movement but now is only to maintain the hollow position.over the next weeks i'm planning to make my hips flat all the time. i really love the hbp!http://youtu.be/bJxiNPCD1yktips are appreciated!thanks for your time!Alex
Coach Sommer
This was more of a press to shoulderstand followed by a HSPU than a HBP. For a correct HBP, the body reaching vertical and the arms reaching full extension should occur simultaneously.Yours in Fitness,Coach Sommer
Alessandro Mainente
Hi coach you said to me exactly what Matteo Morandi said to me last week, he noticed also that my movement wasn't perfect for 2 big reasons: -first of all i was lowering my shoulders down to fast, this let to me to reach the shoulders stand position (that is not a part of hbp) too early and continue using the hspu as you said. so simply i have to maintain my shoulders and head up -second thing at the beginning , when i pass througth bent arm planche, my arms are extra rotated by 180° activating the biceps. but after , istead of turn hands them inward by 180° so that my knucles are pointed forward, i was maintaining the hspu grip to press up from the sh stand. he said that one good thing is try to imagine to have always the floor under the hands (as hbp on floor). in this way you never really reach the sh stand position due to the "floor" . is for this reason that i prefer do it with very low rings (1-2 cm from floor) do you share his point on view? thanks for your time
Joshua Naterman
I think that if you have someone to spot you during the negative, while you move as slowly as you can, you will probably get the feel for it pretty quickly. You already have most, if not all, of the strength you need but it's a new skill that you have to learn
Alessandro Mainente
sometime i have a spot sometime no, in the gym i've never had a spot. and of course big part of the problem is the fear. i have the same problem on pbars skills througth the hs position.
