Brian Li
Since seeing Sam Tribble do a wide elbow lever on parallel bars a long time ago, I recently attempted it on floor and was wondering if there are any benefits or uses from this skill or is it just good for a party trick? It is not really that hard, but definitely takes some strength compared to the regular elbow lever or even the one arm elbow lever. You use a wider than shoulder width grip where you try to get as low to the ground as possible without lying on the floor ofcourse and instead of stabbing the elbows under the obliques, you squeeze your upper arms and elbows to the side of your torso. This could be done on the rings too I believe. I think it stresses the internal rotators because I think you have to isometrically internal rotate to keep your body up.Sam does this for an easier Bower variation on the PB, but other than that what do you think it is good for or can transfer over to or is it just a party trick.BR6hcd4wR2c The lever thing can be seen at about 0:20.
