mario702
HelloI am beginner, 50 years old and can hold a good L-sit on parallel bars for 40 seconds. Now I want to learn the rotation from L-sit to handstand. And there the movement is stopping at the beginning tuck planche.Who can give me any tips for progression? What the hell is going wrong?
kbryk
Try L-sit, to shoulder stand on the parallel bars, treat this as a press to handstand, because essentially that's what you are trying to do, your sticking point if I take an educated guess is in your hips and the transition from the L-sit to the handstand. What I did was work what I call inverted headstand leg raises, the key part to a press to handstand, at least I think so.This exercise is the first picture on this page.http://www.drillsandskills.com/article/
Blairbob
In the L sit press to shoulderstand, initiate the press pushing the bars away from you and hips as high as possible. Right before you stall out, start bending the arms so you can continue to pull the hips up behind and over(vertical of) of your shoulders. Feet follow up either by straddling or straight leg. If you can get into the shoulderstand on Parallel Bars, do the negative and this will help you figure out the movement. A press to headstand is very similar but does not require as much upper body strength as the press to shoulderstand.
