Hello people, i have started gymnastics training this week and i have few questions.I have created a program based on my curent strength and it looks like this :

Tu : FSP + pushing

Thu : FSP + pulling

Sat : FSP + core

My 1st question is : should i mix pushing, pulling and core every workout or doing it as i have done this week is ok?Or is it up to my preference?

My second question is : i have very sensitive knees and i find SLS much harder for knees than barbell front squats. Is it ok to do those front squats instead of SLS.

What do you think?

Thx

For the first question, I like to do it that way you asked. Push, pull, and core all in one workout. Repeated over 3 days in a week. You can lower the volume on saturdays to give yourself time to recuperate. It gives you more time to adapt to the load than just once a week.

Second question I think front squats are great but even better would be to find out what's wrong with your knees and strengthen them instead of going around the issue.

thank you very much Alex for your response. i have mixed my excercises so im doing pushing , pulling and core in every training and i can realy feel that its much better now !

As for my knees, i was doing stronglifts 5x5 (program where you squat 3 times a week and every training you add 2.5 kg to barbell) few months ago and one day my knee hurted before i even started squatting that day but i ignored the pain and didnt even warm up properly.during 5th set when i was at the bottom something cracked in my knee and i wasnt able to stand up.i had really sharp pain in that knee for whole next day but the day after i felt just slight pain so i squatted again and that was the beginning of about 8 months of cycles of pain (bad days) and not so much pain (good days).during that 8 months there was 1 week at maximum when i was not squatting.it sounds stupid and propably really was stupid to not fully recover but you know...despite the pain, i really love barbell squats :| today it is proably 2 weeks without squats and my knee definitely feel much much better.i can do bodyweight squats without any pain but ist still not 100 %.i want to give my knee another two weeks at least and then start with some bodyweight squats and maybe even single leg squats.for now there is nothig that i wish more than heal and strengthen my knee to full healthy state.

ps sorry for my not so good english

You should see a physical therapist about your knee. Sounds like something is really off.

What country are you from?

As i said, i see progress in healing process of my knee so for now, i will give it a little bit more time before i go to see a doctor or therapist  And i'm from Slovakia
