newguy5000
Sorry if this has been mentioned already, i couldn't find anything on it. It said previously that the accomodation for the seminar was TBD. I was wondering if something has been put in place yet or if the details are still being worked out? The reason i ask is i may need to just book myself in elsewhere if it is not determined soon because of the seminar weekend being Grand final weekend in Melbourne which means both flights and accomodation evaporate relatively quickly. Return flights from Perth to Melbourne for a couple of days during that time are already around 700 bucks. Damn grand final! If it's not going to get sorted out for another few weeks i will just try and book myself somewhere relatively close.
Julian Aldag
The seminar is being held at Wesley College, a 5 min walk from Prahran Station. Prahran station is around 10-15 train ride from the City. Or you can also catch the 06 Tram from the city which passes right in front of the College. Either way, super easy to get to. $700 is pretty expensive. Maybe you could come down a few days earlier when it is cheaper and crash at a backpackers? Also, don't be afraid to stay a little further out if it helps the wallet. Melbourne is really easy to navigate (far better than my Adelaide home town )Any other questions, let me know. Hope it all goes well Jules
newguy5000
ahhh thanks for the info on the Train Station! unfortunately with work i can't fly in earlier or fly out later. I'm stuck coming in just before and leaving a day or so after. I think it goes down to about 470 if you extend the stay a bit. If it's that close to the City i might find some accommodation in there and train it in. That sounds like the easiest way to go about things. I didn't realise it was so close, i've only been to Melbourne once and never left the city.I actually found Adelaide really easy to navigate. It kinda reminded me of Perth in how it looked. I wish Perth had adelaide property prices. Thanks for the heads up dude.
Edward Smith
newguy5000,If you want cheap accommodation, there is a backpackers hostel right across the road from Wesley. I could pop in there and check it out for you next time I go if you'd like.Otherwise as Jules said, Wesley is in a very accessible area. Anywhere relatively close will most likely be pretty easy to get to Wesley. If you need any advice about any places your scoping out, don't hesitate to ask.Ed
Blythe Tait
Thanks for raising this, I have been holding off booking accomodation for the same reason.Looks like we should just book. Can't believe how expensive accomodation is from the Grand Final weekend!! Anyone for a gymnasium sleepover?
