I was training the other day and i had a woman come up to me and she told me that she was really impressed with what i was doing and was wondering if i could help her train. I am not certain how to implement gymnastics for her or if i should recommend something else. If it would be a good thing for her to do How would i implement it?

You don't really need to change anything in the program for a women, as has been demonstrated by the many strong ladies who have attended the seminars.

The main thing is that she is actually interested in this style of training.

I myself have had great success using the basic elements of the program with women, including rings. Ladies seem to enjoy the challenge, and getting upside down is always a thrill for anyone.

In fact i recently found my wife trying to do support holds on the sly on occasions when i've left my rings up and have been out of the room. Now i can't stop her!

There have indeed been some VERY strong and talented women attending the GB Seminars!

As a general rule however, at this level the training is the same, simply scale the exercises according to her strength levels while maintaining the set/rep/rest structure of the given workout. For example, rather than towel pull-ups substitute towel rows. If towel rows are too challenging standing towel rows while leaning back etc.

We have a chick on my team doing muscle ups on long rings and generally doing better than many of the guys.. she's 16 -17 years old, pretty damn impressive. It's just about the interest and dedication!

Challenge for you:

I tell those who become certified by me that if they can’t train a typical female client to do 12 chin-ups in 12 weeks, then they don’t know how to train. That’s how you can evaluate a good trainer. If they can get a female client to do 12 chins, they’re a good trainer. If they don’t know how to do it, then they don’t know training. Period.
