i've read on the web, on many forums that after a period of hard work many people agree to rest for one week or decrease the volume/difficulty!does this thing regards the steady cycle?

i don't understand very well what is the steady cycle!

can someone explain it with simple words?

thank you

Neal Winkler

Yes, the steady state cycle has built in weeks of easier work for recovery. This is because the SSC keeps things the same for 8 or so weeks. As the weeks progress you adapt and it becomes easier as the weeks go along.

ok now i have understand, and how many days or week does a ssc must have?

and what i have to do?

thanks

In a steady state cycle you keep the same reps, rest breaks, tempos, intensity etc etc. for how ever long your cycle lasts. The length of your cycle will depend on how quickly you adapt. In the beginning it should be quite hard and once your workouts are feeling easy you know it's time for a new cycle. That's the basics at least.

ok...but if i see to my routine, i usually increase everyweek the add weigth (for some exercise) on 0.5 kg, like handstandpush, dumbell fly, pull up, pbar/rings dips ecc...do you think that i don't have to increase the add weigth as i do?

the SteadyStateCycle generally lasts 8-12 weeks and there is a period of overload, adaptation, and then underload which prepares you for the next cycle. It's lighter in intensity which allows you to recover till you start the process all over again in the next cycle.

many programs will have a back-off or rest week after 3 weeks of training otherwise.
