Tarun Suri
Still guessing on Maria...And it's weird to see Allan so much taller. I still think of the little kid doing the planches in the book! (I hope I'm not mixing up names).
Guest
Looking good, guys! I hope to be there as well on the next European Seminar (I'm guessing there will be a next European Seminar...)
Coach Sommer
Hopefully this note finds everyone has now recovered from their jet lag. I would like to once more extend a special thanks to GB Forum members Omegant and Serotonin for the amazing job which they did coordinating all of the myriad details of the day to day operations of the seminar; from facilty acquisition, to selecting a hotel, to establishing transportation, to personal tours of Palma, to the special t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts commemorating this first European based GB Seminar. Without their tireless efforts, this seminar would have much much less than it was. Thank you, gentlemen.I would also like to thank all of the attendees for a most enjoyable seminar. Your level of preparation, dedication and drive was inspirational to both myself and my staff. The pulling strength of the European Men was especially impressive. Several of them were able to perform negative reverse muscle-ups. Once their pressing strength catches up with their pulling, wow!As mentioned during the seminar, we are currently working on adding a new section to the forum for GB Seminar attendees where they may discuss in private those materials presented at the seminars which have not yet been released to the general public. This forum section will only be open to GB Seminar attendees. The comments and reviews posted here have been very helpful as I continually strive to refine the presentation and content of the GB Seminars . In light of Omegant's wonderful hospitality during the Mallorca GB Seminar, I will be working on implementing more socially focused activities and events during next year's US based GB Seminars. Activities currently being considered include a meet and greet at the host hotel the night prior to the seminar's first day, perhaps a horseback trail ride and cowboy breakfast to start one of the training days and a group dinner one evening after training. Here are a just a few of the many photos from the Seminar. I will be sending personal copies of these and other photos to the seminar attendees shortly.I look forward to seeing everyone again at the May 2011 GB Seminar.Yours in Fitness,Coach Sommer

Coach Sommer
So this is probably a bad time to mention that one of the group dinner ideas that I am considering is a Hawaiian pig roast hosted at my home for the evening? 8) Yours in Fitness,Coach Sommer

Blairbob
Mmm, any phillipine oriented eats is fine by me. My friend's wedding was a bit lackluster in the amount of food until the bride's in laws came in force and saved our appetites. It clashed with the wedding party food theme but served us with delectable delights.
Michael Traynor
It's going to be more or less impossible for me not to try my very utmost to be at the next seminar...a few months before then to focus focus focus! The pulling strength of the European Men was especially impressive. Several of them were able to perform negative reverse muscle-ups. Once their pressing strength catches up with their pulling, wow!I accept this challenge with glee but don't promise to succeed just to try my very very hardest. Bozo Jonic
After couple of workouts in which I tried to implement some of the things Coach taught us at the Seminar - I've never felt so alive in my whole life. Despite the fact that I have DOMS in more muscles than I can count Thanx Coach!Looking forward to the next Seminar.
Razz
Sorry bjonic but I can't help smile when I think of the big strong guy (you) being completely crushed not that I'm not crushed myself!!Anyways another important thing I learned at the seminar, actually the most important, was to stop procrastinating, do what you love and transfer your dedication to whatever you're doing. I actually get around to doing other things than training now and not just training and procrastinating.

Alvaro Antolinez
By the moment I'm only practicing the warm up and the prehab ( no wod) just to try get it done in half an hour ( not 50 min ). It is really exausting by itself ( not the level of WOD though) hope to retake WOD in a couple of weeks.

Nicholas Sortino
That's a very good idea Omegant, I'm doing 2 workouts a day, one is just the pre requisites and warmup stuff, it's hard I am making a morning routine that is just all the warmup stuff we did and joint prep, and maybe if I do it quickly pre-reqs for the FSPs + rope climb. I have a feeling it is going to take me forever.
Cole Dano
Thanks Coach, Dillon, Alvaro and David for an awesome weekend of learning in an the friendliest atmosphere imaginable. My fellow trainees were a fantastic bunch of very serious, yet hilarious young men and one very strong lady. The seminar it self was for the most part well delivered. The presentations were quite clear and i felt that the context of when to do what was better delivered this time around. This was very useful as otherwise one tends to go into 'Buffet Table' mode. We actually covered one shoulder pre-hab routine that was skipped last time around, thanks to Coach being willing to do an impromptu session in the hotel lobby. In this same session we made a complete review of the material covered and answered any remaining questions. Thanks Coach for doing this! The next morning many of us got together for a second comparison of our notes. Like i said this was a serious group of young men! Through this, much of the information was clearly planted in my head.I will say it is without doubt worth doing the second time around even though much of the info is 'repeated'. Truth is repetition is the best teacher. There were things i forgot, misunderstood or just needed some clarification from the Sept. seminar. In addition ones own skills improve over time so the next steps can be learned. Finally, it seems each seminar has some unique content. In addition to the shoulder routine, Mark asked a 'quick' question which lead to a session the next day on chest roll to handstand (ok headstand for me). This is one of those moves i've been working on with a great deal of frustration. Dillon gave me a couple of pointers and i realized i was getting the timing all wrong. I went from not getting it all all to almost up to balancing in about 2 minutes. Next time i practice i'm sure it will come, which is very satisfying. Another thing i enjoined this time, being on the 'less strong' side of the group, was how the few of us in this category somewhat banded together to help each other for example in assisted rope climbs and lifting each other up into ring handstand. This was a great way to work on a skill, where last time i just stood around. The only negative comments i have are that the seminar did kind of loose focus a few times. Either due to not knowing ahead of time when the lunch break would be (Spanish opening hours are not the same as U.S.) or the Coach talking to the other Coaches. In one instance, Dillion eventually got things moving again. I think Coach could give Dillon a bit more responsibility so he would know what to do next time. The other was the Sunday scheduling. Starting 30 minutes earlier meant that we had to leave before breakfast at the hotel was ready. Then we worked through lunch, i was just totally gassed by the end of the day. Missing food wasn't a problem otherwise, i just had no more strength left to do exercises that went well for me the first seminar. Again with this a little practical pre-planning would help, but in all honesty these were small compared to all the positives of the seminar.I look forward to the next seminar!
