Neal Winkler
http://www.salon.com/books/nonfiction/i ... _interviewFrom the above interview: Ice Age aboriginal tribesmen, he discovers, were able to run long distances at approximately the same speed as modern-day Olympic sprinters. ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!Todays Olympic sprinters, trained by science, would obliterate anyone from any period of human history in a sprint. The idea that there were people who could run at a Olympic caliber sprint for extended periods just proves that all this "paleo" stuff is sliding into the realm of ridiculousness. The only thing I'll say is that people from the paleolithic were of course in better shape than the average person today, but our best are better at anything than any period of history (not counting things that aren't really practiced today). After the advent of agriculture, stature and muscle mass were reduced. Many men were malnourished and disease-ridden weaklings (not their fault). So, the idea that todays men are the wimpiest ever I find to be very unlikely.
Blairbob
That evidence is still arbitrary, imo. Not concrete and definite. Modern athletes are fitness enthusiasts can be very different from the average male in a society as per hormonal makeup, strength, endurance, flexibility, etc.
