ASForum
Its called MalKhamb. Khamba = Pillar. You can rename the title to identify it correctly. Its pretty agile. Its like doing Gymnastics at CrossFit speed. PS: Cmon these guys are damn fit and agile.. doing a bunch of those static holds and moving at THAT pace on that Pillar. Cole Dano
This is quite amazing, nice post. (Though i'm with Crash, give it a little dignity and re-title it )I'm always amazed at the immense variety of physical culture that exists in India (and indeed throughout the world)I haven't seen this one before, but have seen many other incredible displays of skill, strength and agility on display throughout India. One of my favorites was watching a guy swing a two headed mace like object twirling it like a baton around his neck on the back of his arms.Of course all the club and mace swinging there is fantastic and i can attest the light clubs are great for the shoulders. I have a couple of pairs. But this is really something special, the reverse flags, and the quick raja-kapotasana were highlights. In general one has to realize with different cultures that they can have their own aesthetic. In India, the movements tend to be quicker, more agile, but perhaps to a western eye to look sloppier. They same is often seen in yoga, where western yogis will be more concerned with the final forms of poses and moving more slowly from one to the next, while in India, the performance can be very loose and fluid. Of course there are also the guys who stay in one position for days on end, but thats another matter.
Blairbob
I'm not sure this is WFS. We are talking about a mostly naked male in a near bikini. At least a pair of gymnastics shorts and it might be alright. It's pretty cool, but I still prefer watching the females do it. It's becoming something of a sport here in the US.
