Is this a good balance of goals?

hey,

my ultimate goals are:

Planche

Front Lever

Manna

iron cross

Human Flag

One arm pull up

One arm hespu

goals i am training specifically atm are:

Planche - with static progressions and planche leans

Front lever - with static progressions and fl pull ups

Manna - just started, gonna focus on first progression gtg style

one arm pullup - with weighted pullups

one arm hespu - with hspu's against wall atm

so my question is: is this a good balance of goals?

as in push/pull, that kind of thing?

and also does anyone have any recommendations for other goals seeing as im going for the most ridiculous stength moves there are? :D

thx for any help

Looks good to me , train front lever and planche at the same time is the best thing to do.

Maybe , be care to dont do too much weighted stuff , because you would be propably overtrained and have no-progress at final.

But work all this move at the same time is very good , because this is what i did too in the past and i had very good result.

I worked on planche , front lever and one arm pull up but more focus on planche and FL.

Good luck

thx for reply ashita

im only going to be doing weighted pullups until i feel im ready to work one arm pullups with negatives and towel assists etc.

You dont need to do weighted pull up before do negative.

How much pull up can you do with and without extra weight ?

Ciaran

um, ive never really tested my max bodyweight pullups but id say it would be about 15+

and for weighted pullups my 3 rep max would probably be with an added 27% bodyweight

i just want to wait until im stronger with my weighted pullups because last time i tried doing one arm negatives i got a sore forearm and bicep on my weaker arm (left), which made me stop training for about a week. so i just want to make sure im ready so that i don't get injured again.

im thinking of trying some one arm deadhangs though to strengthen the position. any thoughts?

ashita

Do weighted pull up wont help you really to be better on negative , maybe a bit but this is not the key for me..

Yeah it is normal if it was your first training with negative but sore during a week yeah it isnt normal lol

You can begin by doing assisted pull up with a towel or whatever else as support ,and hold few second at top on each rep.

It would prepare you to the negative.

Yeah yo ucan do this also , then when its too easy , try to hold with the arm a bit bent , then more bent ....

Until you feel you ready to begin work on negative.

You can also do chin up with a towel , it build huge forearm , usefull for oac negative.

bye

It's fine. You should add in back lever though.

For OAC I would not recommend one arm work until you can do at least 50-60% of bodyweight with weights. It's too easy to develop tendonitis like that.

In general, I'd say only work towards 3-4 goals at once. It's easier to make managable gains towards skills if you're working the skill itself then 1-2 supplemental exercises for the strength for that.

These skills aren't mutually exclusive so training back lever or front lever is going to have some gain/carry over to cross and OAC for example. Thus, you don't need to try to do everything at once.

thx guys, ill put this info to good use,

im not really comfortable doing back lever wth the setup i have (i kind of do pullups and front lever on pagola, not too close to ground either), and thats the only reason im not doing them.

just a quick question for braindx,

i saw on the ross training forum that u were going to write an article that will elaborate on the one in your sig, do u have any idea when u would be finished doing so, because id be really interested in reading it? :D
