hey guys,

i'm doing training strength training 5 days a week (mon-fri) - im a teenager and they're not excessively long workouts so i recover fine - and i would just like some opinions on whether working 1 specific skill i would like to achieve, aka front lever, more than once per day would be more beneficial than once per day?

i dont mean like gtg style i mean like, eg. 5x6s holds in the morning (these arent max efforts) and then the same in the afternoon after school as part of my proper workout.

i feel like i have the capacity at the moment to be doing this, i would just like to know whether this might be overdoing it with the specific muscles, tendons etc. maybe it shouldnt be done with front lever but if not could it be done with other things? (hspu or weighted pull up etc.)

i appreciate any help, thx!

Even though you're going to be splitting up volume it is essentially like doing two workouts a day.

Start with one day a week where you split the volume then see how you feel at the end of the week. If it's fine then add another.

If you start to fatigue or stall in progress I would back off. The fact that you don't have a solid foundation in basic strength bothers me though. Don't go too overboard.

You don't need more then 4-5x a week and the consistency over 1-2 years to perform a lot of these skills. Going to two a days even with split volume is not going to speed up your progress significantly that you'd be cutting off half the time. At most it would be a few months earlier that you would obtain a lot of the skills...
