Ear infection & training?

Hello,

I've been a bit sick the past few weeks. A minor cold led to sinisitus which then led to an ear infection.  I kinda just let it run its course but the pain from the ear infection was excruciating.  I was prescribed antibiotics. (i'm not thrilled about this at all).

Anyhow, I'm on day 4 of the antibiotics and my symptoms are as follows;

* Ear feels clogged or muffled
* slight balance issues at times
* ringing in my ear
* occasional pain but not much.
* lots of phlegm and post nasal drip.

Question(s):

1. Has anyone had an ear infection before?  Are these  common symptoms? (first one for me)  How long does this crap last?

2. Is it okay to train?  I'm thinking handstands can't be good?

Thanks everyone.

I suggest you rest, your immune system is working to control the infection, which means most of your energy is "channeled" to your immune system so it can work properly. Try doing some light stretching. If you are having some balance issues i suggest you avoid being upside down. In conclusion just rest so you can recover properly, once you are good retake training.

P.S Take ALL the antibiotic doses the doctor prescribed and assist to your control.

Good suggestion here, notice that during an infection and 10-15 days after you are more exposed to virus and you risk serious conditions.

rest without problems.
