Hi there, would you guys plz critique my HS/PE2+iM? Been working a long time on these elements, hopefully they are starting to look good ...

PE:

iM:

Thanks in advance!

Nice, Tobias.  It looks like you've been working on these a lot.  Your headstand looks good.  one thing you could focus on would be more PPT.  It's good though.  On your IM, good ROM.  Try not to jut your head so far forward as you bring the bar up.  that would be my only advice.  Focus on things, but I think you are ready to move on.

Alessandro Mainente

A back view of the IM could be useful.

The fact tha the he4ad seems to be tilted forward it is not a problem. shoulders must be moved backward in order to lift the arms so ideally it is nto the head that moves forward. the head is in the same place. the sensation of different position is due to the spine that start to flex forward instead of stay in place.

TobiasM

Thanks a lot guys! Really glad it's going the right way with these elements, been working a lot and hard on them   ;)

I filmed a back view of the iM element today - Is it alright with the floor angle?

bump :/

Alessandro Mainente

You should film it from shoulders heigth , my impression is that you are continuing to tilt the upper body forward. do it facing the wall. it could help to understand if youare leaning forward always or not.

Tobias Magnussen

Thanks @Alessandro Mainente. I tried to film a new video from a better angel. Hopefully it's better to see if i'm tilting the upper body forward or not. Probally still got a lot more work to do with this element - It's pretty damn hard :<

Tobias Magnussen

bump... Would really like some keypoints i should focus on to master this element; Too much tilt? and how about the grip width?

Ryan Bailey

Hi, am I correct we start wider grip here?  Get everything else in order, spine alignment, shoulder extension height ect. ,  Then start bringing the hands in?

Alessandro Mainente

Grip should be decreased definitely, SHoulders depressed more and do it in front of a mirror, some imbalances are showed in this video because in the beginning the plate is the middel of the butt while at the end is the rigth part of the upper back., rigth shoulder is more tigth.

Tobias Magnussen

Thanks a lot guys! I will decrease the grip width a bit and work some more on this element - I'll check back in a couple of weeks hopfully with some improvement :-)

Tobias Magnussen

Been working some more on this element trying to make progress - What do you guys think, any better?

Thanks in advance!

Alessandro Mainente

You can move then hands closer.

Tobias Magnussen

Seems like to me, when i try to move my hands closer my form is crap :\

Besides the grip width does everything else seems to be fine?

Tobias Magnussen

Shot a new video to have a check when i put hands closer teogehter:

Worked some more with hands closer together:

pay attention to lift arms at the same height . Probably you have a stronger side so you should adjust the form in function of the weak one.

Tobias Magnussen

oh... never noticed that. But when you say it, i can differently see the bar is tilting a bit.

Besides the height of the bar; What about the handplacement, is it getting any better?

Alessandro Mainente

IN order to measure progress you shoul make some signs on the wood bar and see day over day how much closer you move to shoulders width.

Tobias Magnussen

Been working some more on this element. Seems like to me, I've made some good progress latly. According to the mark I've made to measure, my hands is getting some cm closer to shoulder width. However, what do you guys think? Is it looking any better?

 Thanks in advance!

Alessandro Mainente

Nice progress, your imbalances are fixed!

Tobias Magnussen

Thank you @Alessandro Mainente! Any points I should keep focusing on? aaaaand: How far from mastery?

Tobias Magnussen

Decided to film both PE2+iM2 from my HS session today at the gym:
