Gymnastic Training for Squash Players - Recommendations

Hi GB community!

 

High level squash player here, and beginner GB athlete, looking for recommendations on strength and mobility areas that could be priorities for players of this sport.

 

Here's a brief intro:

  • Racquet sport
  • Played in a closed room
  • Intensely aerobic with anaerobic spurts (~1kcal/hr)
  • "You bend, lunge, jump, and twist, working your upper body, explosiveness, endurance, and core" - link

Going to a GB seminar was eye opening, and Coach Sommer recommended:

  • Dislocates
  • Jefferson Curls

Any thoughts from the community on how to best use GB to cross train for squash?
