Gianluca G. Di Lernia
Hi guys, i would like to install gymnastic rings in my room, so i'll have to fix two hooks at the ceiling. How far apart should the two point of attachment of rings be if my straps are long little more than 1mt (when doing muscle ups), or max 1,5 mt (iron cross training for example)? I know that in competitions the distance is 50cm, but the straps are long 3mt. Is there maybe a way to do an exact calculation? Thank you!
Gianluca G. Di Lernia
Sorry often i set my straps at 85 cm, not 1m (for muscle up work)
Joshua Slocum
50cm should be fine; you could do a little wider if you have broad shoulders.

Glen Eames
Or come up with some sort of adjustable width system. In my search for something similar I've seen people put a rod through a bunch of eye hooks, hang multiple hooks like strme said, or there are adjustable width apparatuses for sale. Just a thought. Eric Kamhi
50 cm is the standard, but if you want to be able to adjust it or use variable width to hang different things (such as a trapeze bar, ropes/ribbons yoga swings etc) then I would look into something like http://www.roguefitness.com/rogue-ring-hanger.php
