Hi All

So I have just started on Foundation 1, loving the progressions so far.

I have a question about RC/PE1 (hinge row): The focus points say start with glutes and shoulders off the floor. Do the glutes stay off the floor for the whole range of motion , i.e is the only point of floor contact at the back of your heels while you hinge at the waist. Or are you just sat on your butt through the motion as if you were sitting up?  The latter seems very easy , but I want to go throught the progression properly. Its not clear from the images or video .

thanks !

Do a search here. It's come up a whole lot of times. The "official" answer seems to be glutes brushing but not fully weight bearing. But others may disagree. Anyways don't overthink it, it's a PE1 so it's supposed to be easy (but kills you with high reps ;-) )

Yeah, this one has seriously been analyzed to death. The main point is not to allow yourself to rest any of your weight on your glutes. It is a lot harder, but that's the point. Any contact with the ground is only going to be the lightest touch, without reducing the load you're pulling. And get ready for some fun, this is a tough one.

Way too much thinking on a PE 1 going on here.

Your glutes can touch the ground. Some people will not some will. Not a huge concern. Do not sit down at the top of the movement. You don't need to completely dead hang at the bottom just let the scapula move naturally.
