I have a weightligting background and therefore I am very accustomed to hookgripping barbell on Cleans and Snatches. Is it beneficial to add hookgrip to a falsegrip when doing muscle ups and more advanced ring strenght work? One advantage I can think of would be, that the FG would not slip that easily. Are there disadvantages? Why isnt hookgrip generally used in gymnastics?
