1) Is a front full best done when initiated with an arch first then twist (as if going for a front layout, then twisting), or is it better just throwing your chest then twisting, or something else?!?

2) Also, what's easier, doing it from a punch or doing it from a front hand spring?

- All front layouts, whether twisting or not, begin from an open chest position. To rotate pull the arms apart out to the sides and kick the heels up strongly behind you.

- You should learn from the front handspring as this will promote correct head and chest position into the set of the front flip.

- In my opinion a beginner is best served by learning to twist via the pike open method. To this end, perform a pike flip and begin the twist only after the body has opened to a completely extended position.
