In a few weeks, GymnasticBodies will be migrating to an entirely new website, forums, store, and look. Sometime between this launch and the release of the 2nd Edition, several other new products will come out and there will be changes to the Graduate Studies section of the forums.
The new Graduate Studies will be an opportunity for more learning, content beyond the released book, and some recognition for achievement. Essentially it becomes the place for people who are serious about advancing with their training.
Everyone here will be grandfathered in with a free year's worth of time. Attending a seminar will now automatically grant a year subscription from the date of the seminar. For those who have attended 2+ seminars, it will work out to be less to pay the seminar tuition than purchasing a year subscription, so the sacrifice of flying in and investing the time will be well rewarded.
A subscription to Graduate Studies includes the following:
- Advance material and feedback/discussion on it
- Free quarterly video review of your progress with supplemental exercise recommendations and the ability to "test" a level.
- Opportunity to achieve gymnastics levels and have that placed directly under your name for everyone to see on the forums. There will be 8 levels, arranged according to progressions and mobility completed towards the Manna, Cirque, Front Lever, Straddle Planche, Side Lever, SLS, and Hollowback (Bower pushup). In order to pass a level, you will have to demonstrate the minimum progress for each element that's associated with it. The levels do two things: shows the whole forum you have sound advice to be listened to; and lets you show off your hard work and dedication. Levels stay with you even if you let the Graduate Studies subscription expire.
- Some potential other loyalty discounts (details under discussion)
We will have a lot more news soon for the entire community. I hope you all are as excited as I am about this. The 2nd Edition has some awesome material, and I expect there will be major progress all around!
