Hi, i have a question about planche progression.I have progressed from frog stance to advanced frog stance and i dont like it.Its like too much pressure on the elbows with knees on them.I can hold tuck planche for a few seconds on the floor but i can hold pretty solid tuck planche on pushup stands (its like doing them on parallettes?).My question is, can i do tuck planche on parallettes instead of advanced frog stance and then progress to tuck planche on the floor?Maybe a stupid question but im really not sure and i dont want to spend weeks or months of training and then find out that tuck planche on parallettes did not carry over to tuck planche on the floor. Thanks for your advice

This question has been brought up before, and with good reason. The adv frog stand is good for some and not for others. If you can only hold the tuck planche for a few seconds, then i would recommend doing what Ido Portal suggests. Putting a band around your mid secotion to take away some of the difficulty. how long can you hold the tuck planche for? L-sit to tuck planche might be helpful to you as well. and dumbell swings.

What Ian said plus planche leans focusing on protraction (good complement because you can't keep tuck planche much time yet so you can build some volume with planche leans and still work on important muscles)

i can hold the tuck planche for maybe 5 sec when im fresh

what do you mean by ''putting a band around your mid secotion" ? sry somehow i cannot visualize this

you mean focusing on scapular protraction ?

The workout bands used to strengthen your shoulders and such. Attatch both ends to something, normally a pull up bar, let it hang and put it around your stomach. It willbe different, but Ido portal says it helps

Im not a fan of putting bands around myself. It changes the center of gravity and makes balancing and the lean a little different. Paralletes will carry over to the floor. You should however work on wrist strength. I would do planche/PPP leans to work on strength. And frogs to work on balance. 5 seconds is an ok starting point to work on the next progression assuming that the form is very good.

It can to some extent, but moreso for push ups. It changes the way you have to press into the lean a little bit, but if you have a way to adjust the tension (like hanging them off of a variable length truck strap) as you get stronger then they may be a decent assistance exercise.

I have not used them aside from an experiment about 2 years ago that I honestly thought was very so-so and not worth all the effort, but I was also a lot stronger back then in terms of pressing.

I would not, for any reason, ever depend entirely on assistance work unless you're rehabbing from an injury. You always want to do some of the real thing.
