Hey everybody, my front flip is much higher now and landing pretty clean. Here is me doing them onto a big mat about 3 feet tall and landing on my feet. Please give me any input on anything you think i still need to improve . Here is the link, and remember, I LEARN BEST WHEN IT'S EXPLAINED LIKE YOU ARE TALKING TO A THIRD GRADER!! :) oh yeah, the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEiLJamGwRQ

thanks again everyone!!!!

Nice work! One thing i've been taught is to make ur last step quite long and low rather than high and loopy if that makes sense. This way you don't lose the speed you have built up with ur run-up. Cuz at the moment you are losing all your momentum. Hope this helps.

I've been told about that "high and loopy" jump and at times i get rid of it but it keeps coming back...i've gotta work at that if i can just figure out why i jump too high like that :)

keeping that last step low is hard to do. One suggestion that helped me is to try and bring your trailing foot up next to the lead foot on your last step as quick as you can. I think you actually do a good job of that. It's like your last step shouldn't be a jump. It should just be a hop only high enough to allow time for your left foot to come up next to your right foot with your legs ready to spring into the flip. You want to keep your momentum moving forward until your jumping off both feet. At least, that's how kind of learned.

Watch the guy in this video. Although he keeps all his momentum going forward after the flip, watch his last few steps.
