now my coach said that is a decent form

i noticed this improvements during this 7 months:

-more tecnique

-from poor quality pike stretch to pike stretch with head on the half of tibia

-no pancake mobility and flexibility to full active pancake

-poor front and side leg lift from standing to 100° lift

-no hips compression to more hips compression (lifting the legs in seated straddle and pike position)

-lots of strength and fatigue due to the planching --> no fatigue to do 1-2 press in a row

a very big difference for me expecially in active flexibility and hips flexors strength!

Joachim Nagler

Awesome progress!

How did you reach that kind of flexibility?

Alessandro Mainente

combining pnf, passive stretching and active flexibility of pancake, pikes stretch, leg lift and generally elogating the muscles contracting the opposite

Joachim Nagler

Thanks for your reply!

what do you mean by leg lifts?

Alessandro Mainente

lifting the legs from a standing position forward, backward and sideward. you need great lower back strength (1.4-1,5 BW deadlift) to avoid great progress without back pain...

i do not open new post for a new video, i'll insert her directly.

this is my japanese hs, unofrtunately my gymn course is finished, so if someone has some tip is appreciated a lot! :D:D

Wow. That is impressive.

It looks to me like you have a bit of a curve and are favouring one side.

Might be the camera angle.

I've noticed from watching a fair bit of NCAA gymnastics that most of their japanese HS do have a big curve in them. Maybe someone more knowledgeable can answer if that's intentional or not.

Alessandro Mainente

yeah but usually i have a little lit curve in the opposite direction in jap hs (this is strange) maybe because i reach the position kicking the legs. if i use the press to hs i don't have problem.

i 've also noticed that, the biggest part of gymnasts have arched back. for me is difficult maintain the scapulas elevated with wide arms because i'm focusing more on pushing agains floor to balance. It's a great point. maybe someone can clarify this! i've never discuss about this with my coach.
