Ive been working to get my hips over my shoulders more before extending out of pike with less planching. Still not perfect, but it's a heck of a lot better than it was when there was no focus on hip positioning.
What to you guys think?

not bad, but you're using a bit of momentum and not really compressing your hips very much in the press
it looks more like a swing to handstand from L with a bit of pike. Ideally your hips should maximally compress, and you should hit the open shoulders while still in maximum hip compression before straightening out of the pike
right now the last thing you do is open your shoulders when really it should be the first
It's all good though, keep at it. My recommendation would be lots of slow negatives really focusing on piking while keeping the shoulders open
i had the same problem in the past, simple try to eliminate the momentum starting from a little bit low L-sit with legs parallel to the pbars and hips between arms and of course what said yuri
Thanks for the advice you guys, I've fixed the L-sit and slowed the movement down (probably not enough yet). I already feel after a few good training days that my form is getting much better already!
