Hello everybody ![]()
I was wondering if some people with a gymnastics background could take a look at this video. It's a synchronized swimming jump, probably my club's weakest area. It should be a jump to maximum height followed by a rotation of 180º while the body tucks and rotates to horizontal. Afterwards the jumper should open to an arched position wit the arms in T and land on her stomach. As you can see in the video none of that happens.
Any ideas for drills or exercises would be greatly appreciated. We want to improve but have very little background or knowledge about how to jump.

Background: Since January the team has been incorporting ideas from the gymnasic bodies book into their workouts. They are getting better at hollow holds, handstands, hanging leg raises, pullups etc but have a long way to go. They have always done running and squats/lunges but a month ago started working with a soccer coach to improve running technique and intensity. Two weeks ago we started including some jumping movements on non-running days, but right now it's mostly just skipping rope.
