Hey all,

I've finally started training planche as part of my FSP. I've been waiting a long time. My question is one of clarification. Is the difference between tuck and advanced tuck judged by how straight your back is/how tucked your thighs are or a combination of both.

Here is a video of me playing around tonight after my ring strength work out. Is this a tucked planche or an advanced tuck planche or something between the two?

it was very close to the flat tuck, but you need to open more your hips ands straigthen more your back

Definitely a combination, you can see near the end that your back flattens out part of the way towards advanced tuck, and you could probably feel how that makes it a bit harder, but your legs were still fully tucked.

That's good work, but I would suggest not worrying about straightening your back or extending the legs at all until you get your hips at the same height as the shoulders. To do that, I'd start off wherever you can hold it and build endurance there, and every time you build up to a 30-ish second hold raise the hips enough to drop you back to 15-ish, and keep repeating that until you get there. Won't take too terribly long!
