Hi. Like the title says i tried GHR for the first time today and thought it went well considering that i have never trained my hamstrings before. I know that it's not perfect and that i need to flatten my hips more, but some tips would be welcome :D .

well, for being that your first ever attempt, it was nice...

many people even can't go down in a controlled mode....

Just keep working on your form and technique

Awesome for your frist time. But i do believe thats a NLC (natural leg curl) not a GHR. I attempted these for a while but realized i was not strong enough yet so i had to scale down. Well done

Thanks for the compliment, Ian.

I might be wrong, but to my understanding the NLC is the exercise prefomed by Ido Portal in the video below. I do agree that can't really call what i did in the video a GHR, to much pike in the hips.

Ian Legrow

AH yes, that is the exercise after the NLC in the book. Its apparently harder then the NLC, but i don't know i never made it to that HAHAH! again well done

Cole Dano

Actually the NLC is harder than the NGHR, it's a publishing error.

I was also impressed by how far out the OP took it. It's more of a NLC with some hip piking, but not bad at all.

To turn it into a NGHR try to fully extend the hips, come forward as far as possible with no (or less) pike, then pike down to bring your head to the floor. After that lift the head by reversing the pike to fully extended hips.

Publishing error! THAT makes sense! i wasn't progressing in the NLC and always found the NGHR easier! Still i am not a good as the guy in this video!
