working on my progression i have a little problem on calculating the number of sets for a static hold..

when i started the progression there wasn't any problem because my max hold wasn't long...so if i did 10 sec i did 6 sets of 10 sec for a total of 60 secs, and this for the FSP and handstand on the rings...the problem doesen't occure if the hold is less than 35-30 sec...but now i'm stronger than before so my max hold overcome the 35-40 sec in handstand (on the rings with feet inside straps) for example...so if i do 2 sets of 40 sec i do more than 60 seconds...so what i have to do to adjust my workouts? do the necessary sets to achieve at least 60 seconds and after cotinue the set with the rest of time? and in my case achieve 80 seconds total hold in hs...or do only one set of 40 seconds?

or do 3 set with the max hold?

i can't find an answer in the web...so what is the best approach? thankssss :mrgreen::mrgreen:

Doing 80s instead of 60s isn't the end of the world. It's a bit more volume but still doable.

If your max hold is 40-45s, I would do 3x20s. If 40 or 45s is your workset and you'd rather not do 2x45, I would do 3x30.

It's not that big of a deal.

so taking the standard 3 set for the max hold can be a solution acceptable?

BtGB SSC never uses max sets for FSP or static holds. Ever.

Is your max hold 40s on assisted Ring HS? If your max hold is 40s, you would do 3x20s.

If your max hold was 80s, then 40s would be your workset. 2x40s is more than 60s but it's not that big of a deal.

For instance the BtGB HS wods that use 30on45off for 15minutes is 6minutes of work. So if you use ring HS, that means you're doing 6m of HS on the rings. However, that is pretty much the workout in itself whereas as when using a SSC series many trainees

ok now i've understand the proportion between the max hold and the hold of a set....thank you...this was the biggest problem!!!
