Not sure what section this goes in. I need to know what the requirements are for a floor routine. I think we're going off of junior optional or something? My main question is what exactly is meant by "side pass"? I can't find this information anywhere. Is it a skill that goes along the side of the floor instead of the diagonal or is it a skill that ends sideways like a side somi?

What are you competing? HS, Junior Olympic Program, NAIGC, Collegiate or FIG?
Floor Element group IV often is done on the side of the floor. They don't have to be but that is where many put them so they can transition towards another corner. Remember to use all corners of the floor.
JO levels 8-10 require 5 element groups per event (L8/9 count 8 skills while L10 counts 10)
On FX the 4 Element groups are:
Non acrobatic floor elements: presses, circles, flairs, balances, and turns
acrobatic forward elements
acrobatic backward elements
acrobatic elements with 1/2 turn to forward or backward including side somis/saltos and aerials
And then you have to dismount floor of course.
