hello!

this is my second video where i show my current level of L-Sit, Planche and HSPU.

http://youtu.be/kjdtcTi_0jU

I am really not happy with my HSPU.. i have gained strength as far as mantaining a locked HS position, but my HSPU is terrible... 2 months and the gains are very small.. :(

and my planche is taking really long to develop as well.. 4 months and thats where i currently am... i can barely hold a 3 sec tuck.

i think the reason you might be seeing very little progress on your HSPU is for two reason. \

1) Have you done the nessicary HeSPU prerequisites first? If not you will need to start with them first. Becasue you are adding more ROM, it is going to be a lot more difficult on you

2) when you do them you push your head in from of your shoulders as you push up as well as your legs are severely bent. Both of these elements make the exercise much easier. When you go down and up in the HeSPU it will almost feel like you are underneath your chest, you might want to film yourself doing that Just in case your arn't actually under your chest. that is how it feels for me anyway. But both of those are what you need to do, watch your form and start with HeSPU becasue it looks as if the HSPU is too much for you

Polmod,

Coach suggests you have a well developed L-sit (3 x 30s holds, up to 3 x 60s) and full lay Back Lever prior to working on the planche. Just something to think about, although you may have that developed at the moment.

yes IJL, you are right, HSPU is currently too much for me, but the reason i have been using push-up bars these last 2 weeks is that i was feeling a bit of pain on my right wrist the moment i went on a HS, so using pushup bars releived that pain.

as soon as i feel better i will continue to do the exercises without the push-up bar.

for now, is it acceptable to do them with the pushup bars, trying to keep the ROM restricted to a HESPU ROM?

gavin S,

thanks for the tip. my current L-sit is 10s max! and my BL is still 10s adv. tuck... so i guess that means my body is not ready yet for the Planche!

:)

thank you!
