hi my parents want to experiment the typ eof my training, consider that they don't have experience in the gym with the weigth and also bodyweigth training...they ask to me if i can make a program for them..

so now i'm doing a stage to become a fitness and bb instructor..but the training of the third age is not argument of the stage!!

consider that they have 55-58 years abd they often run or walk 4-5 days a week..

in my ideas they have to concentrare themself into multiarticolar exercises like bodyqeigth squat, lat machine, puhs up, and some abs exercises...

i think they have to reach a basic strength before start with gb workout ismoetrich etc...

usually for the beginner can be use a protocol o 3 set per 12-15 sets to gain basic strength mass and endurance, for about 16-20 weeks adding ligthe weigth every 2-3 weeks?!

for example

3x12-15 squat

3x12-15 push up on the knee if the normal version is to difficult

3x12-15 lat machine

abs exercise

also some warmup and joint conditioning for shoulder ald wrist!

after the basic strength i think the best way is a strength training, the 3rd age has not to much withe fast fiber so the anaerobich training is more useful for them, for the bones, for the tendons or not?

do you have any tips?

thanks a lot

I'd also advise them to practice hanging from the rings. It tends to be quite therapeutic for older people, as the shoulders get quite a good stretch. It's also a fine step on the road to be able to do a pull-up :)
