So a few weeks ago i posted about doing my first kipping MU. The kip was huge, the MU was ugly as hell, but i did it. It didn't feel that hard but a couple of days later i could feel it all over my shoulders and so i didn't continue to work on it at all because i am a bit paranoid about my shoulders and injury.
Fast forward 3 or 4 weeks. My only work consists of the basic statics - as in Hollow hold, ring lock out, V up ect + L sits and handstands. That's it. The only thing i added in extra was a false grip hang to try and build that up. No pushing or pulling training.
Finished the workout today and thought i would try a MU and knocked our three or four strict ones with no kip. They aren't quite full range of motion because i have to begin with my knees near the ground and arms bent a bit because of clearance issues where the rings are hung, but i was pretty stoked. To be honest i am have been pretty amazed by how much growth i seem to be getting from just the very basic stuff.
Shoulder felt a little worked out from the motion so i think for now i might just finish of every workout with a single MU to retain the skill. Just thought i would share my success with you guys. It might sound strange but it kinda made me feel like a psuedo gymnast being able to complete the skill.
