this is the handstand, another time sorry fot the dark video, this is the result after 6-7 months of training handstand on the rings,

my elbows are not turned out, i just difficult hold it with the normal position of the elbows and without touch the straps, i can't hold the HS for one second if i turn out my elbows...seems to be impossible

Well if you have so little light and put the camera oposite to the light source the result is nothing to see! 8) . BTW the backwards roll is nice.. :D

I'll let someone else comment on your form, but next time put your camera on the other side of your room, otherwise with the light shining right at the camera it tricks the camera into thinking it is bright, and so the camera darkens everything to compensate.

this is my garage, this way is the only possible to have a decent video!!! i'm searching for a new place to use the camera...my garage is an absurd confusion!!!

Hi Alex. That backward roll is very strong. I like the "casual" way you do it. I just happened to try one myself yesterday and decided to spend another half a year to see if I can build the strength and coordination to protect my shoulders (from dislocating). The handstand is more something from the twilight zone. It looks like you are floating horizontally in the air, lifted by the outer space power beam in the background. I don't think that counts as a legitimate effort, don't you agree. Just kidding. I really like your setup and videos. They are different. Yes, play around with the power beam location and keep posting your videos.

hey man, if you want a tip, work on the biceps's strength, for me was the only problem!!! in the beginning i wasn't able to do it for a lack of strength! i use a movement that you can find in another post, simply do the MU to BL slowly and you see that also after some months you can't do MU to BL, the backward roll to support will be more easy!!!

hahah for the handstand :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen: for me is important know if the bodyline is correct, i have to take off the confusion...

this should be better than the previous also i had to modify the contrast and scale the resolution

Alex 87,

That video is much clearer! First of all let me say that I have not achieved a freestanding ring handstand, but I do know what needs to happen, still working on it. Having said that, I would like to say great job on achieving that balance! Now to comment on your ring handstand, you aren't locking out your arms. Your elbows must be locked out and wrists turned out as much as possible. I would suggest stepping back a bit and working the proper technique at an easier variation (feet along the inside of the straps) in parallel with the handstand you show in the video. Coach uses the ring handstand as part of the elbow conditioning progressions towards the iron cross because the ring handstand is supposed to be performed as I described. Its a heavy load on the elbows and biceps if perfromed correctly, and that's what you want. When you bend the elbows you are taking away a significant amount of the benefits you would gain from working this correctly. Just my thoughts! Good job though!

i know what you said, in fact in the past 7 months i started from handstand with foot around straps, after i had achieved 1 minutes in this position i've turned out the wrist. after one minute with wrist out and foot around the straps i passed to foot along the inside of straps (i touch only with the ankles), reached 1 minute i passed to train the handstand in the same position but with the wrist out. Now in this position my max hold is 15 to 20 seconds so i supposed that maybe is the time to try the handstand without the straps's help, also i have to go back and increase the hold in the previous variation?

Rings

Really nice BR Alex!.. Bravo!

You´ve tried starting in hang position?

Alessandro Mainente

i can't understand, what do you mean with "hang position"?

Anyway,you got a solid roll,congratulations ;)

Alessandro Mainente

ahahahaha ok ok i think you were taklking about handtsand!!!

the first first time i've tried with the arms bent, the cause was that i wasn't able to do a front pull... now i can do it but start in the position as i show the video is a question of space! if i set up the rings in order to find myself in a relexed inv hang i touch the ceiling when i am in the support position at the end of backward roll! from inv hang i have to pull more with the biceps!!
