hello,

i am already in my second SSC and following a kind of killroy template

coach sommer recommends the MO/TUE TH/FR template, but i am just wondering how that can be enough rest between day one and two and day4 and 5? i always thought that at least 1 day rest should be between to maximum strength workouts?

1 horizontal push pull

2 dips/curls

3

4vertical push pull

5 dynamic push pull

If you don't feel like your body is recovered enough and that working out 2 days consecutively is doing you more harm than good take more rest days.

'There's no such thing as overtraining, only undersleeping and undereating' ha. Read Slizzardman's thread on pre post and mid workout nutrition, follow that, as it has really helped with my recovery. Sleep AT LEAST 8 hours a night.

While this is good advice, there is the other side of the coin to consider: You may be working too hard when you work out. Working out hard enough is good, working out too hard is bad and will slow you down. If you don't feel strong at the end of a strength workout you worked too hard. If you aren't fully recovered within an hour or two at the MOST after an endurance-type workout you worked too hard.

thanks for the answers,

i think i will go on with the way i worked out before.

actually i am making really good progress, but about two days ago i missed a workout and thus recovered 1 day after the first workout instead of training.

so after recovering one day between the workouts i looked more muscular than before? my form was just better if you understand what i mean. that's why i had the idea, that i should rest more. appart from this experience my strength is increasing really well and usually i am fully recovered after 2 hours.

@marcusumi: thanks for the tip i will definitely have a read through that
