Hi everyone

Just for those interested, i have started a new feature to The Gym Press. My coaching log.

The idea is to basically keep an electronic coaching log. It has all my notes, training program, training plans, etc. An also a training evaluation on practices. I am of course seeking your opinions on the programs, suggestions and would love to hear you thoughts. Of course i would also love to know what others are doing if they are willing to share.

This is partly a way to try and get members and readers of The Gym Press to be more vocal, so that i can learn from you as well.

Check out the first entry today -- TRANING LOG ENTRY # 1

( do plan on moving this Log to a better platform, if anyone knows of a more suitable platform i would be very interested to know)

Please share your ideas and thoughts as i am interested to know,

All the best

Hi Valentin,

I quite like WordPress. You can either get a free account and have something like thegympress.wordpress.com, or you can install it on your own web server (if it supports the relevant versions of PHP/MySQL) which would then be more like www.thegympress.net/blog ...a lot of hosts have this available to install for you.

On their server: http://wordpress.com/

On your server: http://wordpress.org/

In either case it is free, and if you wanted to have a play with the Wordpress.com setup to see if you like it, and wanted to move it to your own installation, there is an export tool to move the data across. I have not done this personally, but it seems well supported. Google the process here.

You would have the usual comments section for each post, as well as an easy interface for uploading/managing images, etc.

There are probably a lot of other fine solutions available, and in some ways I am a little like an internet dinosaur! Working with large corporates for so many years, we tend to just write our own applications when they require this kind of functionality since they already have some kind of CMS implemented.

Good luck with your coaching 'blog!

Cheers,

George.

Thanks George, i appreciate it post. Yeah i have thought about WordPress, but i was kinda hopping for something more specific, or that would allow me to present the information better...humm.

I hope people get ingaged, especially you strength pro's out there.
