Hello everyone,

i'm posting this in foundation one, but my question is not specific to foundation one.

Bear with me, i have to setup the context for the question ;)

Let's say that we are training a progression with the usual 9 steps from 5x1 to 5x5

and, for the sake of discussion, let's imagine we achieve mastery in 5 weeks doing something like this:

week 1 : 5x1

week 2: 5x2

week 3: 5x3

week 4: 5x4

week 5: 5x5

At week 6 we begin the cycle again (from 5x1 to 5x5).

Taking for good the simplifications above, you see that we go from weeks with very low volume to weeks with moderate(high?) volume. Until now i treated this as a built-in deload.

My question is: should i compensate the weeks with low volume by adding a few sets of an easier exercise or the oscillation in volume doesn't matter?

Thanks

Nope you shouldn’t because it you are you will never have periodically a light week (that is a possible form of deload).
