Hi,

I've been wrestling with these ones for a month or so now, always seem to get to 5x48 and then stall.  Also tricky to get the tempo up to the level of the demo video for 5x60, does anyone have any pointers?

Please excuse the small space and video quality - covid life.  Thanks!

Hey Simon, can you write down here the results of the last 8 training sessions?

Hi Alessandro, thanks for your help:

8/12/2020:

Set 1: 36 Set 2: 36 Set 3: 36 Set 4: 36 Set 5: 36

11/12/2020:

Set 1: 48 Set 2: 48 Set 3: 48 Set 4: 48

15/12/2020:

Set 1: 60 Set 2: 60 Set 3: 60 Set 4: 60

18/12/2020:

Set 1: 60 Set 2: 60 Set 3: 60 Set 4: 60 Set 5: 30

22/12/2020:

Set 1: 60 Set 2: 60 Set 3: 38 Set 4: 36 Set 5: 32

27/12/2020:

Set 1: 60 Set 2: 60 Set 3: 46 Set 4: 30 Set 5: 30

29/12/2020:

Set 1: 50 Set 2: 40 Set 3: 30 Set 4: 35 Set 5: 30

4/01/2020:

Set 1: 40 Set 2: 40 Set 3: 40 Set 4: 40 Set 5: 40 (this was my intentional choice to pick a number I thought I could get consistently over each set)

Possibly recovery slightly impacted by end of year stress/lifestyle etc.!

Thanks

HI Simon, so basically your improvements dropped down because you were too fast on increasing volume or resistance. The increase was too much in a very short time.

Now probably you have reached a local overreaching on the rocks. Nothing to do if no slowing down the speed of the jump of intensity r volume.

For example from  8/12 to 15/12 you did 3 training sessions and you added 24 sec total on each set. it is a drastic increase in volume. personally, i think that you should step back on 8/12 and begin again BUT before adding a set or seconds you MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM easily one STEP before moving on.

Thanks Alessandro, yes I was definitely treating "very hard yet possible" as a signal to move forward.  So in future I will treat "easy" as my signal to increase volume.  Thanks!

The very hard possible....is the best solution for very easy failure ;-)
