Hello,

  • How is my form?
  • The instructions state "maintain strong scapular depression"; I find it impossible to depress at bottom of movement. Any suggestions?
  • Should scapula be protracted or retracted?

Thank you!

It looks like you're off to a pretty good start. Your shoulders should depress at the top of each dip, however, at the bottom they will be in a more neutral position. They will neither be protracted nor retracted as you dip, but in a neutral position. Can you also post a video taken directly from the front as well as one taken directly from the side?

Thanks for posting different angles. If you look at your front view you can see that you have quite a bit of asymmetry during your dip. Your left shoulder tends to internally rotate causing it to drop in front and below your right shoulder. As you dip, try to keep your shoulders as symmetrical as possible. Moving your elbows behind you at about a 45 degree angle as you dip down rather than directly to the side will help.
