The adductor exercise towards the end of the Middle Split series, where Coach Sommer says to "pull your feet through the carpet" towards each other, he mentions that particular exercise as being possibly the most important for middle splits. I was curious as to why it's the most important? Also, since it is the most important what would be an indicator that you should increase its frequency in your routine?

Hey Jonathan, it is important because it develops strength at the sarcomeres' maximum length, and if you build up strength her you can develop long terms cold flexibility and joint control over the full range of motion especially end range of motion. now the ft that it is essential does not mean that it can be done more often. once a week is enough, expectation can be considered for:
- people who are advanced in this technique;
-people who are very strong in the muscles involved. for example one of my student who has around 200 kg in squat developed the middle split in 1 month by using this technique (more structured of course) 5 days a week for one month.
