We need to reduce our training load a little from time to time for the adaptation in Foundation 1? Otherwise when do we need it?

I’m confused.. thank you so much.

You mean the deload week?

Yes

It depends on your level. deload week can vary for person to person depending on their level. generally speaking deload week in foundations 1 is not necessary.

Ok. So.. when I’m on foundation two, I should train with decreased load for about 2weeks after 2-4months??

Alessandro Mainente

No, from foundations 2 the deload is every 3-4 WEEKS, not months. the  most used solution in the strength training field is cutting the volume but due to the general joint stress is prefer sometimes cut the intensity.

So.. how long does the stimulated load lasts before Iinitiate the deload week?

Alessandro Mainente

It depends on the level of the athlete. Beginner for example can train for a year without deload. more deep knowledge of the tapering can be found in the literature.
