Has anyone discovered any benefits of including 30 mins or an hour+ of cardio per week to improve their GB classes.

Basically I’m looking for extra tips to get through the gruelling 5X15 ground rows & Push Ups with GB form and tempo.

thanks in advance,

Nick

Nick, the straight answer is it doing “cardio” won’t help you with those movements. If you’re feeling winded while you’re doing them, developing a cardiovascular endurance won’t make that go away. The only thing that will get you better at getting through those is time. You’re working two different energy pathways in something like running or rowing, versus strength endurance movements like these exercises.

Basic cardio foundations can decrease the amount of time you need to recover from one session to the other one. the point is "how many months of cardio do you need in order to see these benefits?" probably at least one year.

Thanks guys.

A years worth of cardio to improve recovery speed with strength endurance training.

Perhaps I’ll stick to 30mins a week to not interrupt my routine too much.

I found low impact cardio to be more beneficial. If you can access a C2 rower and work some programming on that twice to three times a week, you may notice some endurance improvement, as well. Rowing while doing this program hasn’t hurt me at all.
