Hey, Which of the following 2 forms is better to utilize while doing handstand wallruns?

1. scapula fully elevated (i can hold this and stay tight only if i hold my breath). With scapula fully elevated i get a pump on my upper traps

2. scapula not fully elevated. With this i can breathe with every rep but i cant stay as tight and i cant hold 100% elevation while doing this. The pump i get is mainly on my shoulder girdle but i also feel a little bit of "bad pain". Does my shoulders just need to get used to this or is it going to damage me on the long run

Thanks!

Fully elevated.

As my youngest daughter is fond of saying, “suck it up, buttercup!”  ;)

Seriously though, why would you even consider performing a partially correct exercise?  The short term gains are never worth the risk of long term damage.

:D thats what i thought! my reasoning was because i heard you once say that this is a great shoulder girdle builder and i dont really feel it that much on my shoulders i feel it mostly on my traps. I also asked mikhael the handbalancer and he said that you shouldnt be 100% elevated. I guess that gymnastics is a different beast compared to handbalancing then B-)

Not at all.  Simply the difference between the experience of a high level athlete training and developing a new athlete.  Remember that Mikhael is an advanced handbalancer; what is moderate effort for him is maximal effort for a beginner.  Later you will not need to focus on elevating so strongly - however that time is not yet.
