Best serratus anterior exercises

Hi all,

I just found this chart that ranks serratus anterior exercises apparently based on academic research. The pushup plus would be scap shrugs but was surprised by the scaption raise being significantly more effective.

Few questions on this:

1) why every progression of sPL other than scap shrugs (plank, planche lean, full planche, etc.) is not in that list?

2) why scaption raise is not part of the sPL progressions? Do any of the new unlimited courses work SA or has a scaption raise exercise?

3) Is there a way to do scap shrugs that maximizes SA activation? (hands below eyes, narrow grip, internal rotation)

Thanks for your help on this,

Felipe

No mystery.  The academics are simply not familiar with sPL variations.

Thanks Coach. What about that scaption raise move?

Hey Feli,

The sPL progressions work your serratus hard already. Scaption raises are not a necessary addition to your training.

Thanks Everett!
