Mechanics of FL rocks

Feels like this could be obvious, but I couldn't figure it out or find references to it.

Given that the body is expected to remain stiff during the rocking PEs, what is the source of momentum for the movement? From a mechanics perspective, it must come from somewhere. Does this mean that some movement is allowed, but expected to be minimized? Or is there a different way to generate this motion? Thanks!

From my experience, i find it helps to focus on generating the momentum using the transvers abdominis, deep within the lower abdominal area.

This  is your center of mass and it will allow you to generate momentum for the rocking motion as well as to stabilize your torso.

The key here is to press your lower back to the floor as you generate momentum from your deep core. Then it’s a matter of controlling the momentum from there.
