This is a video of my 5th set for 1 min, and iM for 10 seconds. Both felt good, I feel ready to move on, just want to check if there's anything obvious I need to fix. Thanks!

Hi Andrew, for the IM a side video and a front view are necessary for a complete check.

Hi @Alessandro Mainente, here's a video of my 4th set (side) and 5th set (front) of iMs for HS PE1 (second mastery attempt).

I'm assuming from the first video, my tripod headstand is fine?

Thanks!

Andrew

HI Andrew, the tripod is fine.

The IM must be refined. the shoulder flexion is not 180°, probably you need to increase the grip. also from the front view notice that the bar is not horizontal, you need to fix this problem.

Andrew Molina

Hi @Alessandro Mainardi,

When you say "increase grip," do you mean widen my grip? What queues should I be using for this exercise?

I believe the bar isn't horizontal on the front view because the camera is tilted (you can see the floor is not horizontal either).

Thanks,

Andrew

Hey Andrew,

1. Go slightly wider with your grip. That should open your shoulders to 180-degree flexion.

2. As long as it was the camera and not the bar that was crooked, don't worry about it.

Additional Cues:

-Keep your core engaged, ribs in.

-Breathe :)

-Shrug (elevate) strongly. It looked like you were already but just keep focusing on it, especially later into the sets when you're more fatigued.

Thanks so much! @Everett Carroll

Hey @Everett Carroll, wondering if this looks any better. Did another mini cycle and this felt a lot better with a slightly wider grip. Thanks!

Everett Carroll

Great! Now start leaning forward as much as possible without losing this shoulder position.

Andrew Molina

Hey @Everett Carroll, just to clarify, will my arms and spine be in a straight line, or am I keeping my arms pointing straight up but leaning my upper body? The demo videos aren't super clear, but it looks like the guy is leaning his head and chest far forward but his arms are still vertical.

Everett Carroll

The weight moves forward as well. As you lean, allow the bar to follow your torso or, better yet, open your shoulders even more by pulling the bar back behind your head as your torso moves forward.
