Active rest between exercises

In the Foundation format, rest between sets consists of active mobility. I was wondering if this kind of format can always be used or if it may not be appropriate with other kinds of strength work. For example, when doing weightlifting, or rings work, or other intense strength workouts, is it still fine to do some mobility/stretching in between sets, or would total rest be more appropriate? Would complete rest be better to avoid CNS fatigue (actually I am not totally sure about what that is...)?

Is it fine to use the breaks in between sets to stretch the same muscles being worked or is that a bad idea?

Hi Guido, it can be used for foundation because is basic strength and not maximal effort. if you are performing at 1RM of bench press or deadlift or snatch or rings straight arms adv rings elements you need time to recover the ATP energy store and being fresh.

Makes sense, thanks Alex!
