 First attempt at this exercise.

Let me know what I can improve

as always thanks in advanced

Ryan,

Nice work! I like your stall bar set up as well.

Your form though. It looks great to far. I say if you work Jefferson curls into your warm-ups, you’ll notice a huge difference in compression strength.

Ideally, you want to bring your feet all the way to the top rung before lowering down.

Tough, I know. But it’s worth it.

Again, nice job so far.

@Mikey Cunanan

 Hey Mikey, so ive been noticing some impingement in my shoulders when doing this exercise as shown in my last post. Ive scaled back on trying to get toes to bar and have focused more on true hip flexion rather than bringing my whole lower back and mid back off the wall.

 In This video shown here there is not shoulder issues and over all feels lots better. My game plan is to continue with this progressions fighting for compression without my lower and mid back coming along for the ride as shown in my last post.

Thoughts?

Sounds like a solid plan Ryan

Although it’s worth mentioning that in this stage of development, it is ok to have to lower back come off the ladder. Achieving solid compression is a hard fought battle.

In the mean time, your idea looks like a great one. Give it a few weeks to see if it works. I also recommend warming up with some cat vatiations and weighted pikes to open your shoulders and hamstrings.

Hi Ryan! Have you tried changing your grip to supinated? Palms facing the bar.

 I also had some shoulder issues with this and it now i alternate between the pronated and supinated and it feels much better. And maybe put a yoga mat on that fire ladder :)

Usually the bar where one holds from is further ahead a few centimetres than the others. That s not the case of the stall bars you are using so it s normal that you feel impingment here if your shoulder flexion is not excellent.
