Hi can you please help assessing my form.

Ive started toying with unsupported reverse leg lifts (as a substitute for a wall bars rll).

My question is :

-is this really works as a good substitute and can be used to progress further

-if yes,I've noticed I'm leaning forward when in pike,is this normal?

Thank you.

Hey Michael,

Nice job finding a way to substitute this exercise without stall bars. This is a great variation for short term progress, however, you will find that the stall bar variation is more difficult. As you work on finding some stall bars, or a substitute piece of equipment, make sure that you keep your knees straight and your elbows stacked over your hands as you do your current variation.

@Michael Batuk as @Jeffrey Bittner said, the stall bar variation is much more difficult. You'll need boatloads of grip strength to be able to complete 5x10. You might not even be able to do 5 reps on your first attempt. That grip strength is quite helpful in more advanced GST exercises.

To make the substitute exercise harder and more up to par with the one in stall bars, it must be done with the back against the wall. From experience, this helped a lot for me when I was training without stall bars.

The grip strength required on the stall bars surprised me. That’s actually the limiting factor for me.
