how to make rapid improvement in hamstring and shoulder mobility

hi, finished the fundamentals a couple weeks ago and just started on foundation 1 after that. i have horrible wrist, hamstring, and shoulder flexibility and mobility. probably everywhere else too, but those three seem to come up the most in the workouts.

i happen to be living in mexico the next three months and have significant amount of time to dedicate to my health.

i am looking for any advice on how to make as rapid improvement in mobility as possible. is it just more time? any recommend routine, or just do some of the keep mobility things from fundamentals? should i dive in to the stretch courses? any wilder things like juice fasting? or massages?

basically, if you had 8 hours a day to improve those key areas of mobility, what would you do?

thanks!

Hi Peter,

Thanks for reaching out and well done completing the Fundamentals!

First off, your mobility deficits didn’t come over night and it will require time and consistency in order to improve this. You’ve already started your GST journey with Fundamentals and Foundations which is great! Next step is to address the weaknesses you mentioned more specifically. Keep doing the daily limbering routine from the Fundamentals course and add some extra work to the movements you are having most difficulties with. Also add the Stretch series to your schedule as soon as possible. The Handstand One course includes and entire wrist series that will help you improve the strength and mobility in your wrists. All these courses are part of Coach Sommer’s recommended schedule.

Each series should be performed once a week! Doing too much will most likely lead to injuries rather than improved mobility. Doing mobility for 8h a day does not sound like the best approach at this time. Let your body adapt to the new movements and enjoy the journey :)
