Hi all,

i need your help.

most of the HS practice here is HS face to the wall. But because I train myself without spotter, I am scared to drop down when losing balance. That's why I am trying to do HS against the wall.

I have a situation here. I don't know how to fix the arch. Obviously that's too much arch.

great if some of you can enlighten me please.

Regards,

angus

The reason the course uses chest to wall is to prevent arching. So turn yourself around and follow the course. Keep your hands as far from the wall as needed to be comfortable and not scared of falling over.

And either put some soft mats under your head so you can roll out, or work on cartwheeling or pirouetting to safety.

Great advice, Jeremy.

The back to wall handstand it is reserved for people :

-who have already reached a decent bodyline and they need to feel a specific type of activation and rounded back

-who have reached 5-6 seconds of correct free handstand and they need to use the wall in order to understand how properly recover the handstand when they tend to fall on their back.

Adding to the quoted post above: As with holding your core tight, pointing your feet, flexing your quadriceps, and triceps. Pressing your fingertips into the floor surface will help you maintain balance.
